Prof. Matthias Egger from the University of Bern and Prof. Mary-Ann Davies from the University of Cape Town are the IeDEA-SA collaboration Principal Investigators (PIs). Prof. Egger and Prof. Davies jointly lead the collaboration and the development of the scientific agenda and its specific aims.
Data Centers & Research Team
The two PIs oversee a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, epidemiologists, clinicians, data managers, statisticians, and mathematical modelers who contribute to the research agenda. The teams are based at collaborating Data Centers located at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM), University of Bern, Switzerland and the Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Research (CIDER), School of Public Health and Family Medicine, University of Cape Town, South Africa.
The participating clinical sites and programs are located in six Southern African countries: Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Students and Graduates
IeDEA-SA provides support for MPH and PhD students based at both the Data Centers and participating sites who carry our their research using the collaborative dataset.
